ALTUS, Okla. (AP) — Altus police say two long-time police officers have been arrested on conspiracy complaints.
Police Chief Tim Murphy said in a news release Friday that Officers Russell Hansel and Jose Arce were arrested Thursday following a six month investigation and are being held in the Jackson County jail pending a bail hearing.
Murphy did not immediately return a phone call seeking further comment.
The news release says Hansel is being held on complaints of grand larceny and conspiracy to commit grand larceny while Arce was arrested for conspiracy to commit a felony.
Murphy said Hansel had been an Altus police officer for 17 years and Arce for 11 years.
