TULSA - There are many ways to save and have fun at the Tulsa State Fair this year, you just have to know where to look for the discounts.

For instance, opening night, Thursday September 30th, admission is $1 with a coupon from any local Ford dealership.  Also opening night, all rides cost just $2.

This means on opening night, a family of 4 can enjoy the fair along with 2 rides each for just $20.

Any other day of the week, look for daily promotions.

"Monday is Mazzio's ride-a-thon day Wednesday is Arby's ride-a-thon day and the last day of fair is Sunday Fun Day. If you get a coupon from one of our partners it knocks $5 off the price, making it $25 and that includes gate admission and unlimited midway rides all day long." explained Sarah Thompson, spokeswoman for the Tulsa State Fair.

If your kids aren't into rides there are plenty of other free areas to enjoy.
At the Built Ford Tough Arena there's a petting zoo. At Central Park Hall is the Just for Kids Adventure Center.

"There's Tulsa's largest sandbox, fun on the farm, monster mural and make it and take it arts and crafts." said Thompson.

Of course it's hard to come to the fair and not eat the food, this is one area where a discount is hard find but not impossible

Thompson said if you come out the last Thursday thru Sunday and take the survey located in the Exchange Center lobby you can get a 50% off food and drink coupon for some of the Expo served concessions.

That coupon won't work at the individual food stands, for the latest fried food on a stick you'll have to fork over the cash; it may be worth it to try this years new item the Krispy Kreme hamburger.

"It's 2 donuts and a hamburger in between so the donuts are the bun!" described Thompson.
