INDIANAPOLIS - AT&T says permanent and temporary wireless network improvements in downtown Indianapolis for the Super Bowl include free Wi-Fi areas and 4G coverage within Lucas Oil Stadium.
The company said Tuesday the free Wi-Fi will be available along Capitol Avenue, and Meridian, Pennsylvania and Georgia streets, serving areas including the Super Bowl Village and the vicinity of the Indiana Convention Center. The company says customers using AT&T smartphones and devices will be able to automatically connect and switch seamlessly between AT&T's Wi-Fi and wireless networks. Wi-Fi use doesn't count toward customers' smartphone data plans.
AT&T says it also will have a distributed-antenna system at the stadium that will be among the largest of its kind in the U.S. and allow 4G coverage within the stadium.
