TULSA - In Iraq, children line up for hours, just for a pair of shoes.
Shoes collected by a Tulsa based World Compassion Terry Law Ministries,
Those shoes are donated by folks right here in Green Country.
"I gave shoes because kids in Iraq hardly have any shoes."
Even children like Hunter are donating.
"Because God wants us to give."
The campaign is called "Shoes That Save."
Kids get shoes, and a Bible.
"It's a blast to be able to give them a new pair of shoes, I mean I like getting a new pair of shoes to this day, and imagine what a child in Iraq who's never had a pair of shoes would feel."
Since 2006, Jason Law says they've given away some 45,000 pairs of sneakers.
"The kids are almost like this little group of pirhannas, they get so excited."
But Jason says World Compassion couldn't help those kids, without the generous support of so many folks here.
"To know that I'm giving a kid a pair of shoes, that are so everyday to us, just makes my heart feel really well."
It's become a critical part of World Compassion's "passion".
"To be able to go there and witness it and see the faces and be able to put a Bible in their hands and new pair of shoes on their feet, really makes everything we do leading up to that worth it."
