TULSA - The Better Business Bureau says go straight to the manufacturer's web site to be sure you're not taken when it comes to buying luxury items.
Most manufacturers will provide a list of authorized dealers and many offer information on how to tell whether that handbag or pair of sunglasses are the real deal.
Some companies, including Coach, actively go after people selling possible counterfeit items and pursue legal action against those sellers.
If you've bought an item and believe it's counterfeit you can complain both to the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
