TULSA - The deals just sound so good -- 50 to 80 percent, even 90 percent off goods, services and travel.

Remember when those Groupons and Living Social deals arrive in your inbox it's easy to click the "buy" button but each time you do you're putting a charge on your credit or debit card.

Quizzle.com refers to the online coupon and discounts craze as "debt by coupons."  The people who run the free credit score site say, "The excessive use of coupons and discounts could actually be a symptom of a much bigger problem - the buying of the unnecessary."

So before you buy take a deep breath and a realistic look at whether the offer is something you need and something you can afford.

Because racking up credit card debt you can't pay off each month is no bargain.
