TULSA, Okla - If you want to get your kicks on route 66 you may want to skip the portion in Rogers County.

ODOT has reduced traffic to just one lane on southbound 66 over Bird Creek for safety reasons.

A recent study showed drivers were ingnoring the load posting and driving too much weight over the bridge.

ODOT says that forced them to make this move, closing one of the southbound lanes, which will limit the amount of weight that can be on the brige at one time.

It's expected the bridge at Bird Creek will stay that way until it's scheduled replacement in 2012.

A huge street re-hab project is underway in Tulsa on Sheridan from Admiral to 21st street.

You'll see the orange barrels and cones everywhere.

The project includes traffic signal upgrades at the intersections of 4th, 11th and the 21st and Sheridan intersections.

Parts of it will be closed for about a month while crews replace the traffic lights.

The work is being paid for by a 2005 bond issue, federal stimulus money and the third penny sales tax.

Also the 7th street off-ramp at the southwest corner of the IDL will remain closed through the rest of this month. It was initially scheduled to re-open last Monday, but the work there is taking a little longer than expected.

It's all part of the IDL construction project in downtown Tulsa.
