TULSA - A baby sitting up is certainly one of those milestones parents never seem to forget.
But there's another event Jacque and her family would love to forget.
Their air conditioner going on the fritz during those recent excessive heat alerts.
"It was 95 when they came in, the temperature. Inside? Inside."
Jacque says the a-c first needed repair back in April.
They called their home warranty company, American Home Shield, to have it fixed.
During that repair, Jacque says the technician adjusted the fan, among other things, and the a-c seemed to work.
"Then, about three months later, we noticed the air wasn't getting cold again."
So Jacque says she called the warranty company again, and a contractor told her what the problem was.
"The fan blade was hitting the coil on the inside."
But Jacque says she was also told that damage wasn't covered under the warranty.
She says she didn't know what to do since it appeared the tech that did the first warranty repair back in April caused the problem.
"I was very frustrated and you know mad, I kind of felt helpless."
For two weeks, Jacque says she found places for her children to stay, since they couldn't play or sleep in their sweltering home.
She was told it would cost six grand for a new air conditioner, money she says she didn't have.
But she still believed the problem with her old unit was caused by the warranty work done back in April.
So she called the Problem Solvers, and we contacted the warranty company.
"They called me within 20 minutes, within another 20 minutes they had the company calling me and scheduled to come out that same night to look at it."
The next day, Jacque had a brand new air conditioner installed.
"Oh, I'm very happy now, very satisfied."
