PRYOR, Okla. - Amy says she doesn't know what she would do without her power chair - a chair she was forced to use after an accident left her paralyzed from the chest down.
"This chair, I love it, I love this chair," Amy said. "It's helped me so much."
It's helpful, Amy says, as long as she has it.
The problem, she says, the chair has been in for repairs four different times this past year, for a total of more than 80 days.
Most recently, Amy says she didn't have her power chair for nearly a month.
Amy says this time The Scooter Store was not able to provide a loaner with a tilt feature, which Amy says she needs to keep from falling forward.
Her life, Amy says, came to a near standstill.
"I have doctors appointments in Vinita, in Tulsa, in Oklahoma City, and just to go to my friends house, and everything," she said.
Amy says she and her friends called repeatedly to see when repairs to her chair would be finished.
She says they heard everything from "they were waiting for parts, to the chair was on it's way."
So Amy finally called the 2News Problem Solvers and we got in touch with The Scooter Store. A representative said she would look into the situation.
A couple of days later, Amy had her power chair back.
"Oh, I was so ecstatic, so excited and everything became smoother again," she said.
Much smoother, Amy says, when it comes to getting in and around the house.
Amy keeps detailed records of the customer service representatives she has talked to.
That helps when trying to get an issue resolved.
