COWETA - It was November of 2007. Morgan Mitchell was only in the 7th grade.
But she was about to face a battle most adults can't even imagine.
"It was in my small bone of my right leg," said Morgan.
"It" was cancer and after 14 rounds of chemo and surgery, it was gone. Until two years later.
"I found out that it came back in my left kidney," said Morgan.
After another surgery and 12 more rounds of chemo that was gone too.
Until 18 months later. This time it was in her back.
"I did 12 more rounds of chemo," said Morgan.
The cancer was gone again. Until less than a year later.
"It came back in my right kidney which is the kidney I have now," said Morgan.
Doctors killed the cancer in her kidney, but now it's also in her lungs.
"We still try to stay positive," said Morgna's mom, Marva Mitchell. "Still try to look to the Lord, because he's gotten us through everything so far, so that's where our strength comes from."
And Morgan's also getting strength from two special ladies -- two of her former teachers.
They're organizing a run to raise money for Morgan's long and expensive fight.
"We wanted her to have something to look forward to," said Shelley Lawson, one of her former teachers. "Something to help plan while she's going through her treatments."
They're calling it, "All for one. Morgan's run."
"I can't thank them enough for it," said Morgan fighting back tears. "They've made a difference in my life and they're two special ladies."
While she undergoes chemo, Morgan is still going to school. She's a senior at Coweta High.
Said another of her former teachers, Trish Waller, "There are days when she doesn't want to get up, doesn't want to get dressed, but she does it with a smile on her face."
And that smile is only getting bigger, thanks to a few special ladies, making a difference.
"It means more than anybody could ever know," said Morgan "I couldn't thank them enough."
And you can still take part in Morgan's run.
It's Saturday, December 1 at the Intermediate High School in Coweta.
It's 15 dollars to run in the one mile fun run. 25 dollars for the 5k.
