TULSA - Getting your kicks on Route 66 is a little tougher in one part of Tulsa.
11th St. & Yale
Crews are working on Route 66, which is 11th Street in Tulsa, in an effort to make the mother road a little prettier.
The work is now under way at 11th and Yale.
Traffic is limited to one lane in each direction while crews rehab the street.
Crews are adding Route 66 shields to the pavement, decorative fencing, and other embellishments to commemorate the historic roadway.
All this work won't be done until September.
Highway 169 at 41st
New problems for drivers this week on Highway 169 while crews make some repairs.
The right lane of southbound 169 at 41st Street will be closed for much of the day Tuesday and Wednesday.
The southbound 169 on-ramp from 41st will also be closed.
Highway 99, Hominy
Also, in Hominy various lane closures are now in place on north and southbound Highway 99.
For the next two weeks crews will work on the Highway 99 bridge over Penn Creek.
Drivers should use caution and plan some extra travel time to get through there.
