TULSA - Yards are already filling up with changing fall leaves.

To get rid of them, follow these few simple steps.

  • Bag the leaves, twigs and other yard waste in clear or transparent white bags
  • Set them on the curb next to your trash cart for pickup on your normal trash day

Waste in black yard bags will not be collected. City officials say that's because collectors can't verify what's inside.

During November, December and January the city will take those extra bags away for free; no need to attach the green waste stickers.

Limbs can be tied into bundles no larger than 4x2. No sticker needed on the bundles either.

All green waste will be taken to a city facility and turn it into mulch.

The other nine months of the year, February through October, the sticker will be required. The green waste stickers are sold at area QuikTrips. Five stickers cost $2.50.
