Two new major road projects start in Tulsa this week.

71st, River to Tulsa Hills

New road construction starts today (Monday) that will affect a lot of drivers in south Tulsa.

Crews are doing a street rehabilitation project on 71st between the Tulsa Hills shopping center and the Arkansas River bridge.

Traffic on 71st will be limited to one lane in each direction until October.

244 at 33rd W. Ave.

Also, a new obstacle for drivers in west Tulsa looking to get in or out of downtown.

A bridge deck replacement project will start tomorrow on I-244 at 33rd West Avenue.

That's just north of the 244/44 split.

Starting tomorrow crews will start narrowing 244 to just one open lane in each direction. The project will last for six months.

Also, there's new information on a big project downtown, the new Boulder Avenue bridge.

The city tells us it will be open in February, after the artwork on the side walls is completed.

It will be a new connection between the heart of downtown the booming Brady District.
