Oklahoma teacher invited to sit with first lady Michelle Obama during president's State of the Union

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An early childhood education teacher in Oklahoma City is one of two dozen guests the White House has invited to sit with the first lady during President Barack Obama's State of the Union address.
Susan Bumgarner will join Michelle Obama and other guests who suggest gun control, education, immigration, jobs and the economy, health care and voting rights as issues the president may highlight.
The Oklahoma City school district says in a news release that Bumgarner has written curriculum, trained Head Start teachers, taught infants and toddlers and prepared parents with readiness classes.
Other invited guests include Kaitlin Roig of Greenwich, Conn., -- a first-grade teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., that was the scene of a mass shooting in December that killed 20 children and six adults.
