OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin will not be able to vote for herself in her race for the Republican gubernatorial nomination.
Fallin spokesman Alex Weintz says Fallin flew to Washington, D.C. at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday to vote on a supplemental funding bill for the war in Afghanistan. Weintz says Fallin learned Monday night she would have to leave.
Fallin was scheduled to vote in Oklahoma at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Deer Creek Middle School in Edmond. Weintz says he holds out hope that Fallin will be able to return in time for her election watch party Tuesday night in Oklahoma City.
Fallin faces state Sen. Randy Brogdon of Owasso and Oklahoma City area businessman Robert Hubbard and Roger Jackson in the GOP primary.
