A gunman opened fire early Friday at a suburban Denver movie theater on the opening night of the latest Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises.
Officials with the Colorado State Police say 12 people have died more than 50 others are injured.
Officials say injuries range from chemical burns or exposure to gunshot wounds.
Police say suspected gunman James Holmes, who is now in custody, stood at the front of the theater and fired into the crowd about 12:30 a.m. MDT (0630 GMT) at a mall multiplex in Aurora.
