OKMULGEE, Okla. - A 10-year-old Okmulgee girl is in a Tulsa hospital receiving treatment for injuries sustained during a dog attack.
On Tuesday afternoon, Okmulgee County sheriffs deputies responded to the 14000 block of Monroe Road in reference to a dog bite.
Upon arrival, deputies learned the dog in question had already been captured and restrained by its owner.
An ambulance transferred the girl to Okmulgee Memorial Hospital with extensive injuries. She was later transferred to a Tulsa hospital by helicopter.
The animal is currently in quarantine with a licensed veterinarian.
