TULSA - Tulsa police have made an arrest in a homicide at an east Tulsa apartment complex.
Officers say they were called to The Meadows Apartments, near 31st & South Garnett Road, around 5 p.m., Friday afternoon. They were responding to a domestic disturbance.
Sgt. Dave Walker, with the Tulsa Police Department, confirms 23-year-old Ashley Brizendine was found in an apartment. Crews from EMSA and the Tulsa Fire Department tried resuscitating her, however she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives interviewed Brian Xavier Harris, also 23-years-old, and arrested him for first degree murder. Walker said Harris and Brizendine lived together, with their three children, who were present at the time of the woman's death.
Walker said it appears Brizendine was strangled to death, however the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office has not determined a cause of death.
This is Tulsa's 37th homicide of 2013.
