TULSA - Tulsa detectives are looking for a suspect in a fatal shooting in a hotel parking lot over the weekend.
Police say William Rush, aka "Cinco," is the likely triggerman in the death of Tirus Johnson, 23, outside Tonight Inn and Suites near Admiral and Memorial around 8:15 p.m. Sunday.
Hotel guests reported hearing shots and seeing someone in a green hooded sweatshirt running away as Johnson lay lifeless.
Police said Thursday they believe Johnson and the 18-year-old Rush knew each other and had an argument in the lot.
Wednesday, Rush and another man, 22-year-old Keelan Smallwood, were named as persons of interest in the crime. Smallwood has since been arrested on warrants, but is not facing an obstruction charge, not murder.
Rush's upgrade to prime suspect comes after Smallwood's arrest and the discovery of a handgun, thought to be the murder weapon, in a residence near the Tonight Inn.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers (http://bit.ly/TulsaCrimeStoppers).
