TULSA - City crews responded Saturday afternoon to a large water main break in East Tulsa.

Firefighters were working on a hydrant in the area of 14th Street and Highway 169 when a water main burst. The resulting geyser shot water, rocks, and dirt some 30 feet into the air.

City public works crews were notified and able to fix the main after a few hours.

Officials cautioned that residents near the break should fill their bathtubs with water, as repairs might interrupt the delivery of water.

According to city officials, all water services were turned back on and available to those affected residents by 6 p.m. Saturday.
