TULSA - It's come down to the wire for those tax-filing procrastinators -- it's time to mail your tax return.

Tax Day 2012 is here and the U.S. Postal Service is ready for the extra business the day always brings.

If you plan on holding off until 11:59 p.m. to send your return, the post office at Tulsa International Airport is the only one in the area that will remain open until midnight.

Other USPS locations will operate during normal business hours Tuesday across the city, including the downtown office where the last pickup is 5:45 p.m.

Post office employees say they expect the usual rush at lunch and late in the day but caution people to be mindful of collection times.

"You want to make sure that if you are going to mail early in to the collection boxes or in to the lobbies at the stations that you check the times and that you're not depositing the mail after the collection point," said Mike Melendrez, USPS employee.

Additional workers are staffed at some area post offices to help you make the deadline.
