TULSA - A Union Public Schools campus was placed on lockdown for a short time Wednesday, school officials said.
Jarman Elementary, near 81st and Mingo, was placed on a perimeter lockdown at the request of the Tulsa Police Department, according to an automated message from Sandi Calvin, director of Elementary Education for UPS.
The message continues, saying police are searching for suspects who robbed a home in the area.
All exterior doors to the building were locked and additional security officers were brought to the school.
Union officials say the lockdown was merely a precaution and there is no immediate threat to the school.
The lockdown was lifted just before 11 a.m.
