TULSA - Tulsa police are investigating a shooting that left two dead at a midtown Best Buy Saturday afternoon.
Bystander Graydon Brown, 58, of Tulsa, was with a young child inside the store when he was shot, police said.
The suspected target of the shooting, Scott Norman, 34, of Tulsa, was shot just outside the store entrance.
Both were transported to the hospital where they later died.
"At this point, we don't know the relationship between the suspect and the initial victim at the front of the store," said Sgt. Dave Walker. "Ordinarily you wouldn't see, for no reason, somebody walk up to somebody going into a business and shoot them. So that's something we're going to have to look at."
Shoppers inside the store at the time of the shooting recalled the terrifying moments.
"We heard the gunshots,” witness Earl Dunham said. “There were a couple of gun shots that went off and then we noticed a gentleman had collapsed in front of the store, so my wife took off and initiated CPR on him."
Joshua Davis had just walked into the store when the shots rang out.
"I saw everyone start running toward the back with this confused look on their face," said Davis.
Davis thoughts immediately turned to his wife, who was waiting in the car outside.
"I was just worried about my wife," said Davis. "I was wondering if she was okay, hoping they didn't need a getaway car cause the car was running."
Store employees were sent home and the store remains closed. A spokesman said it was unsure if the store would be open on Monday.
Police describe the suspect as a black man in his 30s, around 160 pounds and about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a white shirt with black on it and blue jeans.
Initial eyewitness reports indicated the suspect may have been dropped off by a vehicle. However, police were not able to confirm whether the suspect arrived or left in a vehicle.
Police reviewed surveillance video from the store, but it is not clear how much cameras were able to capture.
The Tulsa Police gang unit is assisting with the investigation, however detectives are not calling the shooting gang related.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 918-596-COPS.
