TULSA - A major national gymnastics event is headed to Tulsa in 2012, giving Green Country an up-close look at potential future Olympians.

The Tulsa Convention Center will host the 2012 U.S. Elite Challenge March 20 through April 1.

Approximately 400 elite gymnasts from around the country will converge in Tulsa and compete in both men's and women's trampoline and tumbling events.

The trampoline is an Olympic event.  Tulsa's competition is one of three qualifiers for the London Games.

"You should come because you are going to be absolutely amazed at what these kids can do," said Ron Jacobson, USA Gymnastics.  "These kids will set you on fire.  You'll be screaming and yelling and just frantic in that building."

The other two qualifying events will take place in Cleveland, Ohio and San Jose, Calif.

The London 2012 Olympic Games is July 27 through Aug. 12.
