TULSA - Thousands celebrated Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream of equality Monday morning as the 2013 parade named in his honor kicked off in downtown Tulsa.
About 5,000 people were expected to attend this year's event, organized by the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Society. Regina Tisdale, the widow of Tulsa athlete and jazz musician Wayman Tisdale, was this year's grand marshall.
The theme for 2013 was "Let Hope Inspire the Dream."
