TULSA - A Tulsa area principal is honored as Oklahoma's Elementary Principal of the year.
The honor went to Theresa Kiger, principal at Union's Roy Clark Elementary.
“I am honored to receive this recognition,” Kiger said. “I work with a great team of teachers, parents, administration and community partners without whom I could not be successful. We all want the best for our kids and we want them to succeed.”
Kiger was recognized for her work in bringing the community school program to Roy Clark Elementary.
Her efforts to cultivate partnerships between the school and community resources earned the school national recognition in 2011.
Kiger attended Union Public Schools kindergarten through 12th and has been principal there since 2002.
