TULSA - Tulsa police are still searching for a person who may have information on the city's 17th homicide, though they have located the victim's vehicle.

The body of 54-year-old Robert Sampson was found March 14 in his west Tulsa home. His landlord alerted police to a bloody scene when he went to check on the resident.

Sampson was missing for days and his landlord had recently filed a missing persons report.

On Wednesday, police said they were searching for a transient who may have information on Sampson's death.

Edward Vanwoudenberg, 57, has reportedly been seen in west Tulsa and the Oakhurst area, and is currently wanted on an outstanding misdemeanor. They say he may stay in transient camps along the Arkansas River.

Police found Sampson's 1998 Ford Explorer Thursday near 15th and Riverside after receiving a call to check on a vehicle parked along the street for an extended period of time.

The TPD Forensic Lab is processing the vehicle for evidence.
