A suspected drunk driver is in custody this morning after police say he hit a person with his truck and kept driving.
The man hit, died at the scene.
The call went out just after midnight Friday. Tulsa Police say that a man was hit and killed at 46th St. North and Highway 169.
They believe that man was walking on the highway when the driver of the pick up truck hit him.
"We had a couple of witnesses that observed the vehicle slam into the center median here and as they continued northbound. They observed what looked like a body over here on the north side of the road," said Tulsa Police Cpl. Jeff Little.
Tulsa police are thankful to those witnesses who could also tell investigators which way the driver was traveling.
TPD called Owasso Police to give them a heads up to search for the driver of the pick up truck. They already had him pulled over at 86th St. North and 129th East Avenue.
Police say the pick-up truck had damage consistent with the accident.
The victim has not yet been identified. Police say there are no highway lights where he was hit, and it had been raining.
The investigation is ongoing, but for now the driver is in custody and could face several charges.
