TULSA - In the surveillance video you see three men walking toward the victim's home. Later on you see them running away after what police say was an attempted burglary.
"It appears the gentleman might have interrupted a burglary at his residence which is just down the street, confronted the suspect, an altercation ensued and the victim was shot multiple times," says Captain Richard Alexander.
Police say the victim then ran down the street before collapsing in front of a neighbors house. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The victim's partner tells us doctors say he's going to be okay. Neighbors say they're shocked something like this has happened.
"Somebody getting shot next door in bright daylight, yeah that's scary," says George Backstrom.
Backstrom's family owns the home that captured the video. He says he's glad he decided to put up the cameras because it could help detectives. It's an idea that other neighbors are considering.
Many say this is a relatively safe neighborhood but this latest incident has some thinking about moving. But Backstrom says sooner or later crime happens in every neighborhood.
"I'm not going to let an incident like this determine where I'm going to live because it is happening everywhere," he says.
Police say it's too early in the investigation to determine if this incident is related to any of the other recent home invasions. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Tulsa police.
