TULSA - The Tulsa Police Department briefly flirted with shutting down U.S. 169 Thursday morning. Police decided not to shut down the highway, but strongly urge caution on the part of motorists.

TPD actually shut the highway down briefly Thursday morning because of a large number of accidents spawned by slick driving conditions and excessive speed.

They say they are working with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to get the situation under control.

2NEWS will keep the public advised of any further developments.
