TULSA - A man was injured Tuesday when he was hit by a car while standing at a midtown Tulsa bus stop.
Police say the man was standing near 11th and 73rd East Avenue around 9:30 a.m. when a car drove over the curb, hitting the man and a bus stop sign.
Police say the suspect was driving westbound on 11th when she struck the man, continued driving and ran a red light.
Witnesses called 911, saying the driver fled the scene. One witness followed the suspect as police were en route.
The woman was caught a short time later and taken into custody. Police arrested Candice Weaver, 30, for hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to stop for a red light and driving under the influence.
Police say the victim suffered a broken leg and cuts but he is expected to recover.
