TULSA - Tulsa police arrested a man Wednesday for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.

Police say they were called to the 3700 block of West 54th Street after a young girl accused an older man of raping her.

According to officials, the suspect is the boyfriend of the victim's mother and a resident of victim's neighborhood.

Police identified the man as 34-year-old Jamal Thomas of Tulsa.

Authorities say the suspect admitted to going to the residence, but denied allegations of sexual assault.

Detectives are still investigating the case.

Thomas is being held in the Tulsa County jail on first-degree rape of a minor. His bond is set at $50,000.

He has a court date set for Sept. 20.
