TULSA - A Tulsa man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly shot a man for stealing scrap.

According to authorities, the shooting occurred shortly after 6 p.m. in Oakhurst when 36-year-old James Leroy Sawyer saw someone stealing scrap metal from his yard at 5400 s. 65th West.

Sawyer reportedly shot the man with a shotgun, then hit him with the weapon.

The victim was taken to hospital in unknown condition.

Sawyer, now being held on a $30,000 and $75,000, faces charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and shooting with an intent to kill.
