TULSA - Victory Christian pastors John and Charica Daugherty received bad news Monday as a Tulsa County judge denied the couple's motions to dismiss the case against them.

John and Charica Daugherty face a misdemeanor charge for failing to report the rape of a 13-year-old girl at the church for two weeks. Both maintain their innocence.

The couple is expected in court Dec. 12.

Former Victory employee Chris Denman, 20, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree rape, forcible oral sodomy of a child, lewd molestation, lewd proposal to a child and two counts of using a computer to facilitate a sex crime.

Israel Castillo, an ex-employee accused of making a lewd proposal to a child after allegations against Denman were first made public, is due in court Nov. 29.

Three employees of the church also face misdemeanor charges for failing to report the abuse.
