Two Green Country cities are offering their residents Christmas tree disposal and recycle services.

The Bartlesville Parks and Recreation Department announced it will be accepting Christmas trees to mulch at the upper parking lot of Sooner Park.

Officials said through Jan. 11, residents can drop off their undecorated trees in the designated fenced in area. The mulch produced will be made available to the public.

The City of McAlester is offering its own tree recycle service but the service will be curbside. Until Jan. 18, residents may leave their trees on the curb in front or beside their houses.

The trees will be turned into mulch or taken to Lake McAlester where they will be sunk to create fish habitats.

McAlester residents needing their trees collected should call 918-423-9268 or 918-421-4922.
