TULSA - Bacon lovers gathered at an outdoor festival filled with different savory recipes of the revered breakfast dish on Sunday.
Guests tried samples of bacon-based cuisine prepared by local chefs and bakers competing for the title of Boss Hog of Baconfest 2013.
"We need building equipment bad so we came up with BaconFest. Actually, I've been to a Baconfest in Kansas City. I thought it was brilliant so I brought it back here and am hoping to raise some money for our building," organizer Sara Crunclegon said.
Attendees participated in competitions of their own, including a bacon look-a-like contest.
