TULSA - A toddler was injured Wednesday afternoon when shots were fired in northwest Tulsa.
Police received a shots fired call shortly before 1 p.m. near West Latimer Street and North Xenophon Avenue. Authorities say a driver noticed what he believed to be his son's recently stolen car occupied by four men and decided to follow.
Someone inside the suspect's vehicle noticed the trailing car and shot into it, wounding the toddler below the waist.
EMSA spokesman Chris Stevens said the child, a 3-year-old girl, was treated at the scene and transported to a Tulsa hospital in fair condition.
The four suspects then ditched the car and fled on foot. Three have been apprehended.
