Suspect in abuse, animal death misses court date

A man accused of beating a woman and a child and decapitating a puppy missed his scheduled court date Wednesday.
A warrant was issued for Brandon Hubbard following his absence.
Hubbard faces charges of child abuse, cruelty to animals and domestic assault and battery.
Court documents say Hubbard beat the girl with a whip and a broom handle and grabbed the puppy from the girl and cut its head off after the dog made a mess.
