TULSA - Organizers announced Sunday afternoon that Tulsa International Mayfest would close early to possible severe weather.
The annual festival will close at 4 p.m. Sunday, instead of its originally scheduled 6 p.m. closing time.
An e-mail sent out Sunday stated, "Organizers made the decision on Sunday afternoon to ensure that all artists, vendors, volunteers and attendees would have plenty of time to pack up and get home safely,"
Sunday is the last day of Tulsa's 2013 Mayfest celebration.
Thousands gathered beginning Friday to celebrate the 41st year of Mayfest, a four-day arts and music festival in the heart of the city.
More than 530,000 people are expected to attend and more than 100 vendors have set up shop.
