TULSA - A suspect driving a stolen car led a Tulsa County deputy on a chase, leading to the deputy finding stolen merchandise inside the car.
Authorities say 38-year-old Michael Smith led the deputy on a chase that ended on Third Street between Memorial Drive and Mingo Road around 11 p.m. Monday night.
Smith and two passengers got out of the car and ran. Deputies caught Smith shortly afterwards.
Upon searching the stolen car, deputies say they discovered a trunk full of stolen merchandise. A generator and several chainsaws had been stolen from a nearby Lowe's Home Improvement store.
Smith was arrested for eluding police, grand larceny and knowingly concealing stolen property. Deputies are still looking for his passengers.
