Thousands of Green Country voters hit the polls Tuesday for Election Day and some said they were met with frustration when they arrived at what they thought were their precincts.

Tulsa County Election Board officials say for the most part things went smoothly and only a few voter issues surfaced, but just in case a room full of workers sat at the Election Board, answering phone calls from people at polling locations in an effort to resolve any issues.

Some voters 2NEWS spoke with said they were surprised to find when they arrived at their polling locations that they weren't actually in the right place.

Voter Kelly Evans says she double-checked her polling place Monday night on the Election Board's website, but she says she got bad information.

"When I went to the precinct that the Tulsa County Election Board said I should go to it wasn't the right precinct," said Evans.  "So after waiting in line for 35 minutes, only to discover I was not on the rolls there, I had to talk to the precinct official who tried to call the Election Board and wasn't able to get anybody to answer there."

Evans says the snafu meant she waited in line twice and spent two hours trying to vote.

She wasn't the only one who ran into problems finding their correct precinct, but Patty Bryant, Tulsa County Election Board secretary, says officials "checked it out and it hasn't been" an issue.

"We are not sure what is going on with that," said Bryant.

She says the Election Board contacted everyone who was affected by redistricting.

"When we did draw the new lines, we did mail out a new voter card to all of the voters who were affected," said Bryant. "But some say they didn't get them or they lost them or what have you."
