TULSA - Drivers encountered wet roads Monday morning after the first significant winter weather occurrence of the season.
Limited problems were reported.
Officials say bridges and overpasses can be slick or slush-covered. ODOT is reporting the slickest area in the city of Tulsa is near I-244 and Highway 169.
Drivers are encouraged to drive with caution and allow for additional travel time.
ODOT crews throughout the state are plowing areas of snow accumulation and applying sand and salt to roadways and bridges.
Tulsa police enacted Operation Slick Streets early Monday morning. When Slick Streets is in effect, police will not respond to non-injury accidents. Instead of calling police, drivers should exchange insurance information.
Operation Slick Streets was canceled as of 9 a.m.
To check current road conditions, call the Department of Public Safety's Road Conditions Hotline at (888) 425-2385.
