SKIATOOK, Okla. - Skiatook gained a city manager Monday night when Dan Yancey, former Skiatook police chief, was voted into office.

The town board voted 4-1 to give Yancey the position, said J.D. Prather, a member of the board.

Yancey, who currently serves as Owasso's police chief, starts work Feb. 11.

Skiatook is in the process of transitioning from a "town" after residents voted the community become a "city" during the November election.
