SKIATOOK -- A Skiatook man was arrested Friday after he allegedly injured a child and strangled his ex-girlfriend.
Timothy Eugene Barnes, 37, was arrested after his ex-girlfriend called police to report domestic abuse.
The witness said Barnes did not like that she had been receiving phone calls and texts from “so many male friends,” according to the arrest report.
She was receiving text messages and phone calls from another man, when Barnes became upset and wanted to know who she was talking to. When she responded that it was none of his business, he knocked her 18-month-old son out her arms and began to hold her down and strangle her.
When police arrived, Barnes had left the scene. Officers observed the child had a bloody nose and the ex-girlfriend had broken skin on the inside of her upper lip and a small red mark on her neck.
Barnes was located and arrested on felony complaints of child abuse and domestic assault and battery by strangulation and a misdemeanor complaint of domestic assault.
His bond was set at $80,000.
