SKIATOOK,Okla. - A lake house in Skiatook dedicated to disabled soldiers and families of fallen heroes welcomes its first family.
Ron Howell, the owner of Cross Timbers Mariana, gave land to Folds of Honor to build a home where military families could enjoy.
Christina Norton loss her husband in Iraq back in 2006. He left behind his two children Becca and Dalton Norton.
"His vehicle ran across on an IED and him and his driver didn't make it out of that incident," Christina said.
Christina and her kids are the first to enjoy the cottage at for free during the weekend.
"We're pretty excited about to be just kind of sit back and relax," Christina said.
It's a relaxing time where families say they can laugh and enjoy time together and give a big thank you to all who have served this country.
