TULSA - Six people escaped a house fire in northwest Tulsa Sunday morning.
Tulsa fire crews received a call around 9:20 a.m. reporting a house on fire on the corner of Quanah Avenue and Admiral Boulevard. Upon arrival they found seven people were living in the home, six of whom were at the residence at the time of the fire.
Officials say all six of the occupants were able to exit the home without injury, along with their pets.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the basement, where the fire originated, and the roof at the back part of the house.
The Red Cross is assisting the residents with food and lodging, said Red Cross Senior Director of Communications Donita Quesnel.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
