BIXBY, Okla. - Senator Jim Inhofe, along with five other senators, are urging the International Olympic Committee to keep wrestling in the Olympic games.

The committee announced last week its plans to eliminate the sport.

"I think, honestly, that's the stupidest thing that they could possibly do. Wrestling's been around since ancient Greek times, you know, and was one of the first original Olympics other than disc and stuff like that," said wrestler Nathan Cook.

"I don't think it's going to happen, I think there's a lot of noise about it. It's sad that it even came to this state," wrestling coach Bill Harlow said.

The committee must affirm the proposal when they meet in September.

"I honestly think that if you take away wrestling, you're taking away dreams of kids. I had a dream of wrestling in the Olympics, but it's gone now," said wrestler Jeremy Morgan.
