TULSA - Oklahoma Department of Transportation officials say the eastbound I-244 and US-64/US-412 exit ramps to the northbound Tisdale Parkway have been reopened.
They were closed Thursday morning following an accident near the northwest corner of the Inner Dispersal Loop near downtown Tulsa.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a semi tanker truck overturned on the exit ramp from I-244 eastbound to the L.L. Tisdale Expressway northbound.
That off-ramp will be narrowed through Friday as crews continue to clean up.
Tulsa Fire Department spokesman Stan May said the tanker was hauling about 8,000 gallons crude oil.
Hazmat crews were sent to the scene to clean up the spill which contaminated soil near the roadway. The soil was removed and the remaining oil from the tanker pumped out.
May said the driver was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Officials say speed may have been a factor in the accident.
ODOT officials said the roadway was closed for nearly six hours due to the accident.
