SAPULPA, Okla. - The Sapulpa Junior ROTC shooters are back from the National Marine Shooting Competition.
And they didn't return empty-handed.
Cadet Staff Sergeant Jackson Thompson placed third overall, setting a national record in marksmanship kneeling with a score of 192 out of 200.
Cadet Capt. Jody Chester set a national record for standing. His 97.7 beat the previous record of 94.
Both will compete later in March at the Interservice Nationals.
Sapulpa High School is hosting the Junior Olympic qualifier Friday, March 8.
