SAPULPA, Okla. - A Sapulpa restaurant that sits across from the fire department was damaged Sunday night when flames tore through the structure.
The fire began in an abandoned house around 10:30 p.m. When firefighters arrived it was fully engulfed.
The flames quickly spread to Selena's Restaurant next door at the corner of Dewey Avenue and South Birch Street.
The building where the fire started was empty but crews had to evacuate some nearby apartments as a precaution.
Investigators say the high winds may have helped spread the flames.
No injuries were reported.
The fire is being called suspicious. The cause remains under investigation.
Officials say demolition crews were already scheduled Monday to take down the house where the fire started.
